Box pleated skirts are a classic piece that must have in your closet in a few different colors and fabrics. Variations of the hem length, texture, color, print, and fullness can create totally different looks.

I admit, I did not have a box pleated skirt in my closet. And once I made this one, I knew there would be more in different variations.

If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that I had this gorgeous African waxed fabric from AKN Fabrics and I could not decide what to do with it!

As you can see, I settled on a classic silhouette because I really wanted this skirt to POP and WOW! And it served! I love this skirt!

To keep in line with the classics, I styled it with a white silk blouse from Banana Republic and some nude Rampage pumps. I just love the sophistication of this outfit. It is a perfect balance of crisp classics and eclectic vibrancy.

By the way, a silk, or silky-type crisp white blouse is an absolute must in every woman’s closet. It can be styled for night or day, up or down

If you’d like to make your skirt with pockets, you can get that tutorial here.

  • Hey Eryn how are you. I thank God that I ran across your tutorials and not by mistake. I was en-couraged,empowered and bettered. It inspired me to do what I do. Iam an entrepreneur and opened an online shop called skirts and thangz with Etsy. But I got in a little slump and did not keep up with what I started. Having that lack of confidence and feeling like what am I doing. Along with work, husband and four boys and a host of other odds it tries to take its toll but. Watching the YouTube video About how you do it all I know it’s not impossible and it reminded me God is my strength He gave me the gift and I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me .I get support from many and you just charged me. I appreciate you. Blessings to you and your family. Sonya P.
