Dress: DIY (Self drafted) | Fabric: similar | Belt: H&M | Shoes: DSW
Hey there!
I created this dress using this ah-mazing scuba knit from Gorgeous Fabrics. I’m still working my way through the haul video I posted a few months back. But, I am absolutely loving their fabrics.
The fabric is a Fuschia Designer “SCUBA” Neoprene Knit fabric. It has since sold out. But, you can find the same fabric in a similar color here.
I self-drafted this dress to my measurements, so I did not use a pattern. I have made enough off-the-shoulder items for my needs and decided to switch it up a bit, but still keeping with the trend of the flounce around the shoulder area.
I accessorized with a gold braided belt from H&M I picked up on vacation a while back. And my shoes are from last year’s black friday haul from DSW (I think). My necklace is gifted and my earrings are from New York & Company.
I’ve really been loving self-drafting to my measurements because it’s allowed me to be more creative without fiddling with lots of pattern manipulation and subsequent fitting shenanigans. I created two toilles for my top just to be sure, then commenced to cutting out my real fabric.
You can see I’ve been loving the double circle skirt flouncy look! And it lays across my booty just so. (Don’t act like you don’t check your booty out in your clothes!)
My bodice is lined with a tricot knit that I like to use when lining stretch garments. My invisible zipper is on my left side seam. And if you haven’t checked out my latest tutorial, click here for my Installing A Flawless Invisible Zipper tutorial that I posted yesterday.
