Pattern: Butterick 6244 | Fabric: Stretch Crepe
I don’t tend to gravitate towards trends, and initially, I thought a sleeveless jacket was silly. I am a very logical thinker, so when I think of a jacket, I think of something with the purpose of keeping me warm. So imagine the war in my brain. (We aren’t even going to discuss the wearing a scarf with shorts trend that popped up a couple of years ago. I was completely flabbergasted. Like, are you hot or are you cold?)
I digress…
After my left brain and right brain resolved their conflict, I added it to my to-sew list and it was on after that.
I was thumbing through my patterns kind of halfheartedly planning my fall sewing. As soon as a I ran across it, I knew I’d struck gold.
To create this look, I simply lengthened the pattern and omitted the sleeves.
I paired it with a simple white tank, denim, sunnies, accessories from Charming Charlie, and a brown-girl friendly nude heel. I wanted my jacket to be the star of this outfit. My bag is from my DIY clutch tutorial that you can find here.
Don’t want to sew it? You can shop the look at the bottom of the post. I try to include the exact items I purchased, but in the case that I can’t, I find a comparable substitute within the same price point.

It’s so long ago, I don’t recall. It was close to whatever was stated on the pattern envelope.
How many yards of fabric did you use?
I’ve linked the fabric in the beginning of the post.
What fabric did you use. I have an older teen granddaughter who is a long tall Sally. I think this would be great for her. I just can’t figure out: a knit, a cotton?
Thank you so much, Ty!

Yes, give it a go! It’s a pretty straightforward pattern!
LOVE this sleeveless coat. It would be perfect for the non-fall/winter months here in Florida. I bookmarked the pattern. Maybe I will dust off my sewing machine and give this a try.
LOL! I was soooo disturbed! Thank you, Sis!
I absolutely love it! I also have an issue with a scarf and shorts or a scarf in the summer time period!
