Sweater – McCalls 6844 | Fabric – Navy/White Striped Knit (sold out) | Earrings: Sherrod Sisters
I finally made the famous McCalls 6844. This is a super popular pattern that I’ve seen being made all through the sewing community. I used a heavy weight novelty knit I got from Gorgeous Fabrics a year ago. I’d even shared this fabric in a previous fabric haul video. Unfortunately, it’s sold out. But the name of the fabric is called Ottoman Stripes Rayon Blend Novelty Knit – Blue-Black/White if you’d like to search online for it. I’d let the winter get away from me last year when I wanted to use this fabric, so I made it my business to use it this winter.
I enjoyed making this pattern and didn’t need to use the directions while making it. My only mistake on this one (that I didn’t realize until I took these pictures) was that I did not do a FBA. Otherwise, I made my normal fitting adjustments. I’m not sure how I forgot to do that, but I did. Oh well. I still love it.
Apologies for the sun glare, but it was literally snow on the ground just outside of the frame of these pictures and my poor husband was shivering trying to take these photos! Bless his heart (and mine!)
When I tell you I was feeling CUTE! I just love when I spend the time to make something for myself and I fall in love it. I don’t always love everything I make, so I’m super happy with this one. I’ve already worn it twice since making it.
I’ve been wearing the mess out of some new earrings I received from Sherrod Sisters Jewelry. I will tell you that the photos on the site of these earrings do them no justice. I’ve been rocking them a few times a week since I’ve received them and you can see them on my Instagram. I love bold earrings with a big headwrap! And by the way, the Sherrod Sisters are fellow crafters because their jewelry is all handmade. So, please go show them some support!
On to the next piece.
