DIY Striped Tweed Coat // Butterick 5966

Can we get into this coat?!?!

I have had Butterick 5966 in my stash for ages and never made it because I was waiting on the perfect fabric. I found this tweed fabric from Gorgeous Fabrics a while back. I showed that fabric in more detail in my Gorgeous Fabrics Haul video. Unfortunately, they’re no longer selling fabrics, so I’ve linked to a few similar tweeds that I think would look gorgeous here, here, and here.

I made View A and I interfaced the entire coat with medium-weight fusible interfacing. I recommend you use heavy-weight interfacing on the collar so that it doesn’t bunch up on you as you’re wearing it. Speaking of this collar, no cold air was going to get through this baby

!I lined it with a bright pink fabric. I can’t recall what the exact type was or where I purchased it. I’ve had it in my stash for a while. My buttons are from Joann’s. I got them during a BOGO sale, so I’ll call that a win.

I styled my coat with a white button-down from H&M and my favorite distressed denim. My pumps are Jessica Simpson and my bag is the Roll-Down Leather Clutch from Love Cortnie.
