First Peek | Sew Happy Subscription Box by Madam Sew

Hey there!

Lately, I’ve been all about ‘easy’. I’ve been exploring a couple of different wardrobe styling and sewing subscriptions, the Sew Happy Subscription Box I’m going to share with you today because it’s truly ‘easy’.

The beauty in subscriptions is that someone else is doing the heavy lifting for you. Plus, you get a truly curated experience with cohesive products that compliment each other very well. And what’s more is that you’re in for a treat to see what kind of experience is curated for you!

That’s why I’m excited to be sharing the first peek of the new Sew Happy Subscription Box by Madam Sew. Getting a curated experience is something that works best with an open mind. It’s all about exploring new brands, learning about new products, and allowing someone else to stretch you past our comfort zone. That’s truly the best part and how we grow in all areas of life.

About the Sew Happy Subscription Box

The Sew Happy box was months in the making and is based completely on a customer survey that Madam Sew conduction. They gathered survey results to curate an experience featuring partners like Birch Fabrics, Sotak Patterns, and FibreMood Patterns, all of which are featured in this first box.

The Sew Happy Subscription is a bi-monthly subscription available for $49.99.

They also have a 3-box super saver subscription that comes with a bonus $50 gift card to the Madam Sew shop for $149.97. Pre-ordering 3 boxes to get a big gift card is definitely a great deal they’re offering right now.

Let’s get into this box shall we! It’s got lots of goodies to share! If you’d like to read it here, keep going! If you’d like to watch the unboxing with my first impression, check it out in my YouTube video below or keep reading if you’d like to – read. lol

Vintage Postcard

This cute vintage postcard is something that I would keep for myself! But, if you’ve got a long distance sew sister/brother, this would be a cute way to drop a thoughtful line and stay connected!

Super Saver Subscription Reminder

This card was included to remind you about the 3-box super saver deal with the $50 gift card that I shared above.

Menagerie Mineral by Kristen Balouch

This adorable fat quarter of fabric is 100% premium organic cotton. I can totally see this as some type of trim for a shirt for my daughter since I don’t quilt.

Geo Giraffe Jersey by Birch Fabrics

This JayCyn Designs fabric is an adorable 95% cotton print fabric with 5% elastane and came in 1.5 yards. It’s teal with the shimmery gold printing. The right side has this gorgeous print and the wrong side is plain. I was really impressed with the quality of this fabric. It was provided to compliment the FibreMood pattern (below). But, I plan on making a dress for the little one with this one. She’s going to love it.

Purse Organizer Pattern by Sotak Patterns

This is a full-color instructional pattern that shows you how to make this cute purse organizer. There are no pre-made pattern pieces, instead it’s a measure and cut situation. All of the instructions and photos are written very clearly for you get this project done quickly. The box also includes an extra coupon code if you’d like to shop the Sotak Pattern shop for more of their patterns!

Vita Tee by FibreMood Pattern

This printed pattern features this simple, but chic tee-shirt pattern. I’d never had much interest in sewing a t-shirt as I tend to grab mine on sale at H&M, but this pattern is tempting me. But, now that I have this pattern, I’m definitely giving this a go.I love the cover photo of the loose fit and contoured shape. It’s my whole vibe from head to toe!

Goodies, Goodies, and More Goodies

* Deluxe Seam Ripper with ergonomic handle helps prevent hand cramps when picking stitching out in a fit of rage 🙂
* Spool Hugger (pink ring) is used for storing bobbins and it keeps bobbin thread tails from unraveling and getting tangled (I used it incorrectly in the video!)
* Thread Snip Ring (orange ring) is worn on the finger to cut thread. I demo it in the YouTube video (it’s pretty handy!)
* Heat Erasable Pen (red pen) is for marking fabric and erases when ironed. I demo it in the YouTube video and it’s cool af
* Metrosene Universal Thread by Mettler is a 150 yard spool best used with cottons, synthetics, mixed fabrics, linen, or silk
* Cute Birch Fabrics sticker

Madam Sew also has a Facebook group full of excited sewers that share and discuss projects, sewing knowledge, tips, and everything sewing related.

My Overall Review

I was pleasantly surprised with this box. While I was excited to see what this box had to offer, I was a bit hesitant on the products (specifically the fabric) in the box because I know that my personal taste is in the minority of what I see in the sewing community online. But, I am happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised by what I got in the first Sew Happy subscription! While the fabrics weren’t my taste, they’ll definitely be used in some adorable projects for my little Suga so you’ll be seeing those soon!I have always wanted to make accessories, but hadn’t quite found one that I’d actually use. But the purse organizer is definitely something I’d use, so I have added that one to my quick list. And of course, the Vita tee pattern is on my hit list because I need to see if Madam Sew can convert me to sewing tee-shirts!I hope you’ve enjoyed this peek into the Sew Happy Box.
