Pattern Review | Keira Pattern by My Daily Threadz

Pattern – here | Fabric – Ponte knit

When Shari of My Daily Threadz released her jumpsuit pattern a while ago via Bootstrap Fashion, I’d noticed the jumpsuit and starting spinning my wheels on whipping up this piece for myself.

She looked amazing (per the usual). I love to support the sewing community so I’d purchased it when it first came out. But never got around to making it until she asked me to participate in reviewing it.

The gorgeous bodice really stood out to me and I knew that I wanted to make something around it. So, I tossed around ideas for a dress and here’s what I came up with!

When ordering the pattern, you can enter in a few measurements to get your own personalized pattern. I thought that was super unique and potentially a great time saver for fitting. I used the bodice from the pattern and I did not need to make any fitting adjustments. I’d still recommend a muslin, just to be safe.

The instructions came with photos. I used the instructions for the bodice, but that’s it. The instructions were easy to follow. Everything else, I self drafted and constructed on my own.

Here’s how I created my look:

  • Used the bodice pieces only

  • Drafted the midi skirt from my knit skirt block

  • Cut off 7 inches of the length of the midi skirt and created a peplum through slash and spread

I shared the preview on Instagram and couldn’t wait to wear it. I wore it this past Saturday to an all white party and received so many compliments.I absolutely see myself making this pattern a few more times. I was very happy with the way my dress came out!
