Pattern Review: Vogue 8977

Vogue 8977

My mom is visiting this weekend, so I got a little time to myself to sew this top I’d seen Mimi G. make. I admit, I was a bit hesitant, because it’s feature style detail are buttons down the back, which I’d never sewn before. But, thankfully, sewing buttons on with a sewing machine was super easy!

This top is view C from Vogue 8977 and sewing it was a breeze. This pattern features cute pleats at the neckline, gathered sleeves and a slightly hi-lo hemline.

To photograph the blouse, I threw on some bootcut jeans and my most comfortable wedges I found at DSW (my kryptonite) on clearance. I was looking very “flower child”, but I liked it. I don’t do trends. I don’t really care what’s “hot” or “in”. I just wear what I like!

Baby Girl decided to photobomb me in her cute little onesie!

PS – I didn’t forget about the skirt in my previous post. It’s finished, it’s just a smudge too small. I am currently working with a trainer and have already starting losing body fat, so hopefully, I’ll be rocking it for the fall! Stay tuned for my fitness journey to get rid of my “mommy pooch”!
