Well, chello! I want to start sharing my sewing pattern hauls with you to see what sewing patterns got added to my ever-growing collection.
Weekend before last, I went to Joann’s Fabrics and picked up a handful of sewing patterns during their McCalls and Vogue sewing patterns sale.
If you haven’t watched my How to Shop for Sewing Patterns video, I mention that I tend to schedule my sewing pattern hauls around sales to save even more money. I also mentioned that I shop my patterns on their websites and add them to my wish list in order to prep for my next sewing pattern haul. It makes shopping so much faster.
This dress was giving me Lady O (First Lady Michelle Obama), so I had to snag it. This dress would be beautiful in a print or bright colored neoprene. (I smell fabric shopping haul coming soon! Hello!)
When I first saw this pattern, I wasn’t that impressed. I didn’t add it to my sewing pattern haul wish list. But, I started to see a few people sew this up and it started my wheels to turning. I’m going to give this a shot. I have some ideas for tweaking this pattern a bit to my liking. We’ll see what I come up with.
I really have no clue why I bought this pattern. I have this exact dress at home that I’d bought from The Gap a few years ago. I could have just traced it. Meh. I bought it anyway. LOL
Finding a jumpsuit to fit my 5’9″ frame is challenging. I’ve only been able to find one and I’m hanging on to it for dear life. Usually everything is just 2 inches too short. I have several jumpsuit patterns that I plan on sewing up this year. This one may not make it until fall rolls around again, but I have plenty more to keep me company.
New Look patterns weren’t on sale, but I really wanted this one. I love the pleating detail in the skirt. I plan on sewing the dress and then just the skirt and attaching a waistband. This is a perfect dress for work for me.
Well, that’s it for me right now. More pattern sales are happening at the end of the month. I’ll be sure to share what I grab!
What new patterns have you recently purchased or what’s on your wishlist for spring sewing?
